Doctor,

In response to your recent query:

it occurs to me that no one has ever told me what was in the cellar. Any chance THAT could be discovered?

As I recall, a chalice of some design filled with blood, or possibly some other noxious substance, and an overlarge slab set in the ground, about 10ftx6ft or thereabouts. There may have been carvings. The slab would have been our main concern, probably concealing some horrific demon, vampyre or suchlike; which is why the authorities are almost certain to overlook it. They are, in fact, far more likely to focus on the body of a dead cultist with a bullet wound in his chest. (Persicue and the cultist had an altercation involving firearms; the cultist came off worse, but only marginally.)

And yes, it is unlikely that the cellar would have been affected by the fire. So we have a problem on our hands, possibly.
